![]() There is of course a UK based Odroid retailer, which when you add everything up probably makes more sense overall, if potentially a little more expensive at the outset (shame about their 3 month warranty though). He seems used to the luxury of being able to return items with zero fuss to certain more convenient sites, so other options would deny that kind of luxury. Then there is the 30 day warranty (which if I remember can be extended for yet more cost) and the consideration about the process that you would have to go through to return it abroad and the associated should at least be shown as much as the picture as possible. Then there is the consideration of the shipping fee, which when added to the hardware cost is then subject to 20% import duties on top. In terms of the prices being mentioned from ameridroid, potential extras for an ‘equivalent’ setup to an average box would mean WiFi and Bluetooth adapters, eMMC adapter (and additional cost to go for the 4Gb model). It should also be remembered that there are a great many users with the cheap boxes that are perfectly happy, otherwise such discussions would never come up in the first place. And perhaps the Beelink Wifi capabilities are as good as the MNIX?īut when recommending a supported box, which is not a bad idea, it is also a good idea to provide the bigger picture in terms of real total cost, warranties and potential hardware issues (with the N2 at least). No rush, well things to consider, Like if I get the MINIX and my T95MAX+ is proven to have a crap Wifi chip then it won’t run well playing remote files. So will keep testing the T95MAX+ and decide which other box to go for. The proble with the internet still persists and may just be my crappy ADSL, no fibre where I live! It could also be a bug in CE or possible hardware such as the wifi chip overheating but it’s not being used so that doesn’t make sense. Currently no pauses at the start and end of playback. My current cheap box, T95MAX+ seems to be running OK now I’ve returned the settings to double buffering for the GPU. The bonus with the MINIX is rock solid internet so it can act as a hub/server/NAS. The MINIX isn’t ‘ng’ but should still provide fluent playback at 1080p with the added quality. So I may persist with my cheap box as a kinda project but I’m on the verge of buying a GT King or a MINIX NEO U9-H both which should be supported here. ![]() Thanks and as I suspected the Beelink if throttled runs OK. However, on the current (throttled) GT-King version I have NO temp problems whatsoever with very nice performance.
